Flint Hills Neuropsychology offers assessments of memory loss, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia in older adults. Our staff are compassionate and knowledgeable about the challenges of aging, as well as resources to help families navigating cognitive change in a family member. We also provide baseline assessments for individuals at high risk of later developing dementia.
We can help clarify cognitive symptoms that might accompany neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury/concussion, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, or stroke, or to further differential diagnosis in a patient with yet medically unexplained cognitive change. We can also identify developmental conditions in adults, such as ADHD, autism, learning disorders, and intellectual disability.
We offer employment-related evaluations, including pre-employment screens for public safety officers, and fitness for duty evaluations. We also work closely with Vocational Rehabilitation Services to provide quality, comprehensive assessments for individuals with disabilities that limit their ability to move forward in their education or career.
Sometimes the goal of an evaluation is not diagnostic clarification, but establishing a basis for an administrative purpose. This includes situations such as guardianship/conservatorship petitions, or disability determination. We can assist in these cases.
We also provide FAA CogScreen-AE evaluations. Dr. Durrett is HIMS trained, highly knowledgeable in FAA policies and requirements, and has years of experience working with pilots seeking medical certification. We often work closely with HIMS trained AME Dr. Harrison of Kansas Aviation Medicine in Manhattan, to offer a streamlined process.
If you need an FAA assessment, have your AME contact us, or send us your FAA letter specifying testing requirements to get the process started. We are also happy to provide general consultation about the FAA process and questions related to special issuance.
